For making the crust you need,
- Unbleached all-purpose flour: 250 ML
- Sugar: 1 tbsp
- Salt: A pinch to taste
- Cubed and cold unsalted butter: 75 mL
- Egg: 1
- Cold water: 1 Tbsp
- Filling for the pie you need…….
- Cornstarch: 3 Tbsp
- Water: 3 Tbsp
- Maple syrup: 1 ½ cups
- 35% cream: ¼ cup
- Egg with a light beat: 1
- Unsalted butter: 2 Tbsp
Directions for Making the Crunchy Crust:
Add one egg and water. Pulse it again till the time dough begin to form. Add some water, based on the requirement to make a soft and spongy dough. Now take it out from your food processor. Show your creative side and make a disc using your hands.
Use a flour powder work surface for rolling out the dough. Take a 23-cm or 9-inch pie plate and place the rolled dough. Keep it in the refrigerator for about 30 mins
Place the rack of your oven in oven middle position. Now, preheat your oven @ 220 °C (425 °F).
Now cover up the pastry crust using aluminum foils. Fill it with dried beans, or you can use pie weights. Allow it to bake for 10 minutes till the time the crust turns dry. Now remove your foil and weight from the crust. Bake for another 10 minutes till the time crust gets properly cooked and gives a golden brown appearance. Keep it aside and let it cool down.
Get the Filling Ready For The Pie
Take a deep saucepan and heat it for 2 mins and then take it off the heat. Add water to it then dissolve cornstarch in it.
Now add the maple syrup in it and one by one add cream and egg. Mix it well to combine all ingredients well
Put on the flame and Wait till it reaches the gentle boiling stage. Do not allow it to get burnt and keep stirring constantly using a whisk. Keep Simmer for at least a minute.
Add up butter and then stir till the time it reaches the melted stage. Take it off from the gas stove and Pour right into the crust. Allow it to cool down.
Now refrigerate the sugar pie for 2 to 3 hours or till the time the filling gets firm.

Take a sharp kitchen Knife and cut the sugar pie into eight equal triangle slices
Put it on a dessert plate Add a scoop vanilla ice cream.
