“May God Give Peace to Her Soul & Strength to the Family”The queen bee, of 90’s- 80’s who is also respected with the 4th highest civilian honor “Padma Shri” award (2013) none other than the beautiful Veteran Bollywood actress Sridevi has passed away too soon. Just in an age of 54 and she become the prey of cardiac arrest.
Died late night around 11-11.30 pm in Dubai she was along with her family members in the wedding of Mohit Marwah, her nephew. She took her last breath with her younger daughter Khushi and husband Boney Kapoor while Janhvi (elder daughter) was in India for her shooting.
Her Journey to Bollywood:
Born on 13th August 1963, Sridevi started her career since her childhood in the devotional movies of the year 1969. She continued acting in Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu cinemas as well.
Because of her immense natural beauty, beguiling eyes and great acting on screen she was loved by the public. Her first debut movie release in 1979 – Solva Sawan was a hit, but she got broader attention from her movie with Jitendar “Himmatwala” in 1983. Then her real journey in the field of Bollywood started with greatest hits like Maawali in 1983, Tohfa, Naya Kadam, Maqsad in 1984, Nazrana and Mr. India in 1987 and others like Chandani, Waqt ki awaaz whose songs are still in the tongue of every person.
Beside the dramatically Indian movies, she was also popularized with the commercial success of movies like Sadma, Nagina, Chaalbaaz, Lame, Khuda Gawah, Laadla, Gumrah, and Judaai that has got critical acclaimed. She also won several Filmfare awards and made a comeback in 2012 with the comedy movie “English Vinglish.” The fans again liked it, and she stepped in last year with the movie “MOM.”
We know about her beauty and fitness so, she also explored in the small screen as Malini Iyer launched on 19th January “2004” and “Kaboom” 2005. Keeping her presence live in the world of Bollywood she also became the member of BOD at the Asian Academy of Film and Television. She was also seen as a showstopper for the famed designer like Priya Chintan, Neeta Lulla, and Quennie Dhody.
No one must have forgotten the TV Show Satyamev Jayte, by Aamir Khan, hosted in 2012 were Sridevi appeared and shared her experience of been abused when she was a child. This made her a great lady and to fight against it; she supported Indian Government in passing the law against child sexual abuse. She was a great artist too, and her passion for painting helped her to donate an international art auction where her paintings were sold.
